CPR 2+ certification for CE marking of construction products
The European Construction Products Regulation (CPR) describes how to demonstrate that your construction product complies with European requirements. It is not mandatory to have CE marking, but it is required if you work in accordance with and/or want to demonstrate that your product meets European established harmonized standards under system 4, 3, 2 or 1. And at Normec under EN 13242 and EN 12620 under 2+ or 4.
There are different assessment systems within the CPR. With system 4, the full assessment lies with the manufacturer. With CPR 2+, you work with an approved Notified Body (NoBo). This independent body supervises your production process and assesses the performance resistance of the product.

How does CPR 2+ certification work in practice?
With CPR 2+, as a manufacturer you are responsible for:
- Conducting product tests
- Setting up and securing internal quality control (Factory Production Control)
A Notified Body then assesses and verifies your quality assurance system. In addition, periodic supervision takes place to check whether you continue to meet the requirements.
Under system 4 you must also apply a CE mark, under system 2+ you appoint an independently appointed Notified Body that periodically assesses your factory production control.
