We would like to remind you of the transition period for maintaining your certificate for the Security and POB hallmarks. To ensure the validity of your certificate, your organization must transition to the new versions by the dates listed below:
- Hallmarks Security 2017, version 1.2 - 2024: switch by Feb. 1, 2026.
- Hallmark POB, version 2 = switch by Jan. 5, 2026.
Certificates based on the old standards after this date will no longer be valid.
What you can do now
- Check if your current certificate is still based on the old standard(s).
- Contact us to schedule the transition to the new standard(s) together.
- Ensure that all audits and necessary adjustments are completed before the Security Hallmarks February 1, 2026.
- Ensure all audits and required modifications are completed prior to the POB January 5, 2026.

Why this reminder?
On July 4, 2024, at the general membership meeting of the Dutch Security Industry, members approved the modification of the 2017 Hallmarks and the POB Hallmark. In addition, the Quality Mark for Socially Responsible Security was adopted entirely new.
Hallmarks 2017 (version 1.2 - 2024).
The biggest change for the Hallmarks (Security, Event Security, Hospitality Security and Money and Valuation Transport) is the addition of an area on Information Security.
All holders of an existing hallmark of the security sector (Security, Event Security, Hospitality Security and Money and Valuation Transport) will have one and a half years (18 months) to comply with the new version (version 1.2 -2024). The effective date of version 1.2 - 2024 is August 1, 2024, which means that existing hallmark holders have until February 1, 2026 to make the transition. For New Hallmark holders, the new version goes into effect immediately from the effective date.
POB Seal of Approval, version 2.
This completely redesigned version of the seal is effective July 5, 2024. Where possible, the new design is in line with the standards of the Security Hallmarks (Hallmark for Security, Hallmark for Event Security, Hallmark for Hospitality Security, Hallmark for Money and Valuation Transport).
There is a transition period of 18 months from July 5, 2024. Existing hallmark holders must comply with the standards of this document within the transition period. Therefore, as of January 5, 2026, the previous version of the Private Investigation Agency Seal of Approval will expire. Certificates issued based on the old version will no longer be valid as of that date.
Hallmark Socially Responsible Security (New)
The Quality Mark for Socially Responsible Security is a new standard. For the certification process, this hallmark is in line with the Hallmarks of the Dutch Security Industry. The hallmark can only be certified in combination with one of the other hallmarks. To qualify, you can request an assessment on this hallmark from NCI Certification. The prescribed audit time each year is half an audit day. The time commitment relates to examination and reporting and therefore does not include travel time.
