Simply Certification is the second CB appointed by MCS since 2022. It now offers MCS certification alongside APHC, NICEIC, HETAS, OFTEC, NAPIT and IAA.

Since Simply became UKAS (UK Accreditation Service) accredited in April to assess contractors to MCS standards, its client base of more than 200 construction organizations and all the new clients it attracts can now receive MCS certification to install low-carbon technologies to the highest standards.

The company now has an MCS license to perform assessments for air-source heat pumps (ASHP), ground-to-water heat pumps (G/WSHP), solar PV and solar heating technologies.

Simply Certification is known for its ethos around quality and supportive approaches to certification. The MCS accreditation complements existing offerings that benefit from industry partnerships.

Ian Rippin, CEO of MCS, said, "We are delighted to expand our selection of certification bodies and increase the choice for contractors seeking MCS certification by welcoming Simply Certification to the scheme.

"Simply Certification joins us at an exciting and crucial time in the history of MCS, as we launch our consultation on redeveloping the scheme. This will seek views on proposals to change the way the scheme works. Simply Certification will enable MCS to expand our industry reach and help us promote quality and grow the number of MCS-certified contractors."

Alexandra Gates, Managing Director at Simply Certification, said, "We are delighted to have received UKAS accreditation to certify contractors to the MCS standards. We have worked exceptionally hard to establish an MCS assessor infrastructure that ensures the highest level of responsiveness and we have a widespread base of assessors stretching from Scotland to the Isle of Wight. This latest achievement is a testament to the great team we have at Simply Certification.

"Our mission is to be the certification body of choice for companies operating in the built environment and we continue to make progress toward that ambition. In recent months we have been working closely with a range of stakeholders to help grow the UK retrofit supply chain and a number of our projects are now being completed, making the road to certification and compliance a much smoother process."

Richard Wiffen, Scheme Manager at Simply Certification, added: "We are uniquely positioned that our focus and expertise lies within the built environment - particularly in sustainability - through the delivery of a range of ISO standards, PAS 2030 and now MCS certification. This latest accreditation adds tremendous value for our clients."
