What is the kmo-portefeuille registration?

Do you want to offer training or training courses or advice to companies in Flanders, making use of kmo-portefeuille subsidies? Then you must be registered as an approved service provider with VLAIO (Vlaams Agentschap Innoveren en Ondernemen).

Registration takes place via an SME portfolio audit, which checks whether your organization meets the quality requirements for recognized service providers.

After a positive audit, your organization is included in the official list of registered providers. This allows SMEs and practitioners to apply for subsidies for your training or consulting programs.

Our approach

During the audit, the Normec auditor assesses how your organisation operates and checks whether your working methods comply with the requirements of the SME portfolio standard.

In particular, the auditor reviews the following points:

  • your activities
  • your experience in delivering the services
  • your customer satisfaction
  • your knowledge of the SME portfolio
  • the integrity of your business operations

Thanks to our experience in conducting thousands of audits, we guide you step by step through the registration process.

Who is the SME portfolio audit for?

Who is the SME portfolio audit intended for?

The SME portfolio audit is intended for organisations that provide consultancy and/or training services to support the development of SMEs in Flanders. Only consultancy services related to cybersecurity are eligible for subsidies. As for training, the content must fall under one of the themes listed below.

Professional skills / specific professions

  • Digitalisation
  • Financial literacy
  • Innovation
  • Business strategy
  • Sustainability
  • Internationalisation
  • Human resources management
  • Job-specific competencies

With regard to cybersecurity consultancy, the subsidies enable SMEs to invest more easily in securing their digital environment through subsidised consultancy programmes.

With registration with the SME portfolio, you:

  • make your services more financially accessible thanks to subsidies for SMEs and self-employed professionals.
  • gain insight into where you can further professionalise your work processes.
  • increase your visibility as a registered service provider.
  • reach a larger number of potential customers.

Approach

How does the SME portfolio audit work?

  1. 1.

Phase 1 - The opening meeting

The auditor gets to know your organisation and discusses the context of your activities.

  2. 2.

    Phase 2 - The checks

During the audit, the auditor assesses the extent to which your working methods comply with the requirements of the SME portfolio standard.

  3. 3.

    Phase 3 - Reporting

The audit results are compiled into a detailed audit report.

  4. 4.

    Phase 4 - The result

The audit file is submitted to the internal certification committee, which determines the outcome. The file is then sent to VLAIO, which validates your official registration.

In the event of conditional approval, your registration is validated on the condition that a follow-up audit is carried out within 12 months.
