Periodic inspection IBC works mandatory

When the competent authority finds deficiencies, measures are taken to overcome the deficiencies. Make sure that you, as manager, report periodically.

Current regulations

Environment Act and transitional law

Under the current Environment Act, it is no longer permitted to apply IBC building materials. Transitional law applies to IBC building materials used before the Environment Act came into force, and for a large proportion of the IBC works constructed from 1 July 2008 onwards, these must be periodically inspected by an inspection body recognized for this purpose and accredited for AS SIKB 6900. The resulting reports must be sent to the competent authority. There is a soil quality hotline for this.

Why inspect?

The competent authority supervises the execution of inspections and assesses the results of (periodic) inspections. If the competent authority finds shortcomings, measures will be taken to overcome these locations.By having a periodic inspection carried out by a recognized and authorized inspection body, managers ensure that they:

  • Comply with laws and regulations (Environment Act)
  • Detect shortcomings at an early stage
  • Guarantee the environmental health quality of the groundwater
  • Guarantee the condition of the IBC work

Who is allowed to perform (periodic) inspections?

Not all inspection bodies are authorized to perform inspections in accordance with AS SIKB 6900-6902. SIKB Protocol 6902 must be applied by an accredited and ministerially recognized inspection body with a valid SIKB license.Sites that have been assessed or inspected by companies without ministerial recognition and accreditation are in deviation from the legal requirements. To obtain the required "Statement of State of IBC Work" and demonstrate compliance with the law, an inspection by one of the authorized inspection bodies is required. On the SIKB website, the accredited companies, including Normec QS, can be found in a register.

Normec QS accredited and ministerially recognized for AS SIKB 6900
