Less evidence for PQ - The 17th update is here!

Since May 15, 2024, the 17th update of the recommendations under § 126 paragraph 1 sentence 3 of Book V of the Social Code (SGB V) by the GKV-Spitzenverband is in force.

What are the most important changes?

Less documentation

The most important key word in the 17th update is probably "debureaucratization." Many requirements in the areas of "general requirements" and "organizational requirements" - in this case self-declarations - have been removed because, according to the GKV, they have no effect on prequalification and are often already controlled by other bodies.

The spatial requirements for some areas of care (VB) have also been adjusted. For example, for the provision of compression stockings (VB 17A), it is no longer necessary to demonstrate that there is a couch because the provision is standing according to the guideline.

Service providers will be especially pleased that an extract from the Central Commercial Register no longer needs to be presented. Obtaining this document was often very time-consuming. Without this proof, prequalification could only be granted with reservations.

And there is something else new: according to the 17th update, building documentation can now be provided exclusively by video. This makes it easier for service providers to provide proof.

Only one VB for master barbers

Master barbers who want to provide both turnkey and custom hair replacements now only need to apply for VB 34B, as the same spatial and material requirements apply here as for VB 34A.

New VB 19C

Home emergency call service has been reclassified from VB 19B to 19C. This has made it easier to adapt the evidence required to the provision of home emergency call systems. A self-declaration and description of the measures taken must now be provided for this area of care. However, until re-qualification, home emergency call service can continue to be billed to health insurers under VB 19B.

New qualifications

With the creation of new qualifications for professional management, the GKV-Spitzenverband has adapted the catalog of criteria to the current diversity of professional training. In many cases, this helps to avoid an examination of equivalent qualifications.
