New collective agreement in transport sector: this changes for employers

On Oct. 28, Transport and Logistics Netherlands (TLN), the Vertical Transport Association and the unions FNV, CNV and De Unie reached a negotiation result for the CBA Professional Road Haulage and Mobile Crane Rental.

The new CBA - after final approval - runs from January 1, 2026 to January 1, 2027 and includes:

  • a 4% wage increase for pay scales A to H;
  • extension of the early retirement scheme (RVU);
  • a total of 19 agreements focused on working conditions and workload.

What does this mean for your organization?

It is important for companies in professional freight transport to anticipate the changes in time. The new collective bargaining agreement has an impact on several areas of personnel and payroll administration, including:

  • Supplements and allowances: modified regulations require correct processing in payroll administration.
  • Time recording: changes in recording and administering hours worked require internal systems to be updated.
  • Vacation and leave accrual: CAO adjustments - partly in line with recent European case law - may affect the accrual and registration of vacation days.
  • Payroll processing: the 4% wage increase as of January 1, 2026 requires timely adjustments in payroll administration.
