Improving housing conditions for migrant workers.
Bedrooms are basically meant for one person. Exceptions are possible when occupants request this themselves, for example in the case of partners, allowing a room to be shared. It is important that a written statement is present during the inspection so that the inspector can check this.
This change applies to all the above mentioned locations that fall under SNF-certified organizations. The new standard was introduced with the goal of increasing privacy, living comfort and providing more personal space for residents.
It also tightens requirements regarding daylighting in residence halls. Sufficient natural light is critical to the well-being and health of residents and is an essential aspect of a dignified living environment.
With these tightenings, SNF is taking an important first step towards structural improvement of the living conditions of migrant workers.
