New requirements for prequalification

According to still strictly confidential information from the GKV-Spitzenverband, the criteria catalog for prequalification will be updated again.

The subject of what is now the 14th update includes, on the one hand, changes resulting from already implemented changes to the product groups in the medical device guide according to § 139 SGB V, in particular with regard to product group 25 "Visual Devices." In addition, due to the complexity of diabetic foot care, a separate care category should be created. The newly created care area 03F is expected to include the provision of "oral and enteral nutrition." Another update of the recommendations under § 126(1) sentence 3 SGB V is already planned for early summer 2022. In particular, this will include the creation of a care category for metabolic products provided as part of enteral nutrition within the framework of medically balanced diets. Final consultations are currently underway. The committees of the GKV-Spitzenverband are expected to decide on the new requirements by the end of August. Thereafter, we will inform all prequalification clients in detail about the new requirements and the resulting implications for the prequalification process.
