What is an ABV?

A contiguous soil facility (formerly liquid-retaining floor, pavement, workshop or drip pan) allows you to temporarily turn released substances. This allows substances to be cleaned up before soil contamination or soil pollution occurs.

Examples of contiguous soil facilities are a concrete floor, asphalt pavement or drip pan. Negligible soil risk can be achieved with a contiguous soil facility, provided proper control measures are applied.

Meeting the requirements

Because contiguous soil facilities temporarily retain substances, they always require control measures. Think of instructions, procedures and means to quickly clean up released substances.

We can assess whether your contiguous soil facility and the associated control measures meet the requirements of the competent authority. With our report you can demonstrate that you meet the requirements for soil protection and fulfill the duty of care.
