AS SIKB 6900 inspection for safe IBC works

Are you the owner or manager of an IBC work (Isolate, Manage and Control)? If so, you must demonstrate compliance with the requirements of inspection protocol AS SIKB 6900. This obligation stems from the Soil Quality Decree. The objective is clear: prevent soil contamination and structurally safeguard the environmental state of IBC works.

Are you responsible for an IBC work? Then you need a valid inspection and a declaration of the state of IBC work.

How does the inspection work?

We perform inspections according to two associated protocols:

  • AS SIKB 6900 - 6901: Inspection during construction of the IBC work.
  • AS SIKB6900 - 6902: Inspection of the condition of the IBC work.

In addition, we provide testing facilities for lifetime testing of applied plastics, as required in Protocol 6901.

During the inspection, we test whether the IBC work meets the specified requirements and whether the insulating and protective devices are functioning correctly. This ensures that the IBC work complies with laws and regulations.

Ministerially recognized and accredited

Thanks to years of experience and involvement in the development of the AS SIKB 6900 scheme, we may offer both inspections (Protocol 6901 and 6902) as part of our accredited services.

Within the framework of the Soil Quality Decree we are ministerially recognized by Rijkswaterstaat Water, Traffic and Environment (Bodem+).

  • Recognition Protocol 6901: in force since April 23, 2015 (indefinite period).
  • Accreditation Protocol 6902: in force since January 29, 2016 (indefinite period).

We were the first accredited inspection institute allowed to perform these activities under ministerial recognition.

With an inspection according to AS SIKB 6900:

  • Demonstrate compliance with the Soil Quality Decree.
  • Limit your risks of soil contamination and liability
  • Receive an official declaration of the state of IBC work
  • Prevent enforcement measures or sanctions
  • Work with a recognized and accredited inspection partner

You demonstrate that you take the environment seriously and act professionally. This not only protects the soil, but also your organization from liability and downtime.
