Which protocols has the BRL SIKB 4000?

The BRL SIKB 4000 includes several protocols. Depending on your activities, you can be certified for one or more protocols:

  • Protocol 4001 - Program of Requirements
  • Protocol 4002 - Desk research
  • Protocol 4003 - Inventory Field Investigation (IVO) soils
  • Protocol 4103 - Inventory field investigation (IVO) waterbeds
  • Protocol 4004 - Excavation of agricultural soils
  • Protocol 4104 - Excavation of sediments
  • Protocol 4006 - Specialist investigation
  • Protocol 4107 - Archaeological monitoring of sediments
  • Protocol 4010 - Deposit management

This is how the certification process works

The assessment of archaeological research is carried out by an audit team consisting of:

  • A qualified Lead Auditor
  • A Technical Expert (senior KNA archaeologist with actor registration)

During the audit we test:

  • The quality management system
  • Ongoing projects in progress
  • Compliance with protocols and KNA requirements

We also take care of the application to SIKB for registration of KNA actors in the actor register. We are also the reviewing body for renewal of the actor status after four years.
