In January 2026 we informed you about the possible application of leniency for deviations from standard point 5.8 within the SNA standard. Meanwhile a final decision has been made about this: No coulance will be applied.
What does this mean for your company?
The existing method for the assessment of norm point 5.8 remains unchanged. This means:
- Deviations based on Interpretation Report 2025-011 are classified as minor non-conformities.
- The recovery period is three months after the inspection date.
- Companies with a nonconformity remain in the SNA register until demonstrable remediation has been achieved.
No more room for doubt
There is no more uncertainty about the assessment of this standard point. It is essential that companies check their processes against the current standard and interpretation in a timely manner to avoid follow-up inspections and possible consequences for registration.
