What is SCC** certification and when do you choose it?

SCC** certification focuses not only on direct control of Safety, Health and Environment (HSE) on the shop floor, but also on the entire HSE structure within your organization. In addition to the practical requirements from SCC*, SCC** pays extra attention to:

  • HSE policy
  • Organization and consultation structures
  • Monitoring and improvement
  • Cooperation with subcontractors

This level is suitable for organizations that work with subcontractors or are active in larger and more complex projects.

With certification, an independent certification body determines that you work in accordance with the standard. After a positive assessment, you will receive the certificate. Interim audits take place annually to check whether you continue to meet the requirements.

How does SCC** certification work in practice?

The SCC checklist helps you organize safety in a structured way. Originally developed for the (petro)chemical sector, SCC is now applied in various sectors where increased risks occur, such as:

  • Mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering
  • Electrical engineering and process control
  • Construction and civil engineering
  • Technical services (insulation, scaffolding, industrial cleaning, blasting/conservation, vertical transport)

With a SCC** certificate you show that safety is integrally anchored in your organization. You show customers, suppliers and employees that you structurally apply and monitor prevention measures. The client determines whether an SCC certificate is required and which level is needed: SCC*, SCC** or SCC Petrochemistry.

Working method

Four steps to your SCC** certificate

Quotation request - quick and easy

With your request you add the organizational chart and risk analysis.

  2. 2.

    Certification agreement - clear agreements

Do you agree with the quotation? Then sign the agreement and provide the necessary documents.

  3. 3.

Audit - from assessment to verification

    Phase 1: Document review

    Phase 2: On-site verification

  4. 4.

    Result - your SCC** certificate

The certificate is valid for three years. An interim audit takes place annually. A recertification audit follows after three years.
