Verification of the BVOR CO₂ calculation tool for green waste
Do you work with the BVOR CO₂ calculation tool for green waste and want to receive CO₂ certificates? Then independent verification is mandatory.
Commissioned by the BVOR, Normec has carried out several test verifications according to the new BVOR verification protocol and the updated calculation tool. This gives us the knowledge and experience to test your calculations carefully and according to the applicable requirements.
As a recognized and fully independent party, we carry out the verification so that you are eligible for CO₂ certificates.
What does the CO₂ calculation tool green waste calculate?
The CO₂ calculation tool green waste was completely revised by CE Delft on behalf of the BVOR in 2021. The tool makes it possible to quantify the greenhouse gas effects of:
- Transport of green waste
- Recycling processes
- Reuse of products such as compost and biofuels.
The calculation tool shows both emissions within the recycling chain and emission reductions. Think of situations where compost or biofuels replace fossil raw materials or fuels. This provides a complete and substantiated picture of the climate impact.
This is how the verification process works
Since March 1, 2022, CO₂ certificates can be issued based on verified results from the BVOR calculation tool.
The verification is performed by an approved independent third party. We assess your input, calculations and underlying documentation according to the applicable verification protocol.
After a positive assessment, you will receive a verification statement. Based on this, the BVOR issues the CO₂ certificates.
With independent verification:
- Do you qualify for official CO₂ certificates.
- Demonstrate that your calculations are reliable and verifiable
- Strengthen your position towards clients and supply chain partners
- Make your climate performance demonstrably transparent
- You work transparently and according to the BVOR verification protocol
You not only substantiate your sustainability ambitions, but make them measurable and recognized.
