VCA-MAX Recognized by ViA: What Does This Mean for Your Organization?
Starting July 1, 2026, an important change will take effect for many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the construction, infrastructure, engineering, and industrial sectors. Starting then, VCA-MAX will be recognized as supplementary evidence of safety culture within the updated Safety in Procurement Guidelines (ViA). ISO 9001 revision 2026
The revision of ISO 9001 is in full swing. The Draft International Standard (DIS) was recently published and is now 12 weeks out for review and comment by affected stakeholders. This update, which is expected to be finally published in the second half of 2026, is of great interest to organizations looking to align their quality management systems with the latest developments and requirements in business.

New: VCA-MAX
On September 18, 2025, the Stichting Samenwerken Voor Veiligheid (SSVV) officially launched SCC-MAX: a renewed step in safe and aware working. This new scheme combines the familiar VCA certificate with the VCA Module Behavior (VCA-MG), so that the focus is no longer only on rules and systems, but also on attitude, awareness and behavior.

Normec NCK accredited for CO2 Performance Ladder Manual 4.0
Handbook 4.0 is more in line with international guidelines, such as the Paris Climate Agreement and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). For higher steps, a climate transition plan is also required, with which organizations set out a route to net zero emissions in 2050. You can view the requirements of version 4.0 via My CO₂-Performanceladder. Certificate holders at level 3 can advance to step 1 of Handbook 4.0 with comparable effort. For level 4 or 5 certificates, the transition to Handbook 4.0 means a heavier task. The extent of the adjustments depends, among other things, on the sector and the size of the organization. All information about our accreditation can be found on the website of the Council for Accreditation (RvA). We are registered there under number C501 for management certification and number C626 for product certification.

Yes, we can audit multiple schedules simultaneously or combined. However, for current certificates, this does depend on their expiration date. Furthermore, the ISO standards ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 can be combined very well due to their structure. Audits for schemes such as VCA and ISO9001 can also be combined.
