What is an SCC Petrochemistry?
SCC Petrochemistry is specifically designed for contractors operating in the petrochemical sector. This certificate combines direct mastery of Safety, Health and Environment (HSE) on the shop floor with a strong HSE structure at the organizational level as well as additional sector-specific requirements.
This level is intended for organizations working in environments with increased risks and complex safety challenges.
Upon certification, we as an independent certification body determine that your organization complies with the certification scheme. After a positive assessment, you receive the certificate. Control audits take place annually to check that you continue to meet the requirements.
How does certification work in practice?
The SCC checklist forms the basis for a structured approach to safety, health and the environment. Although SCC was originally developed for the (petro)chemical sector, it is also applied in other high-risk sectors, such as:
- Mechanical and mechanical engineering
- Electrical engineering and process control
- Construction and civil engineering
- Technical services (insulation, scaffolding, industrial cleaning, blasting/conservation, vertical transport)
With a VCA Petrochemistry certificate you show that safety, health and environment is integrally anchored in your organization. You show clients, suppliers and employees that you control risks and apply preventive measures structurally. The client determines whether an SCC certificate is required and which level is needed: SCC*, SCC** or SCC Petrochemistry.
